What's happening at Anahita Studios
Anahita Studios currently has three fiction features in development.
THE CONVERT
London, 2005. In the shadow of the 7/7 bombings, a PTSD-scarred ex-soldier — his life unravelling — is coerced into infiltrating a community he fears and despises. What he finds there will cost him everything he thought he knew — and nearly his life.
Written by Mo Sesay. Directed by Angus Jackson. Produced by Leila Lak / Anahita Studios.
The story will be based between London and Manchester and we are speaking to Northern co-producers and took meetings at the inaugural Mythos Manchester.
SEE YOU SAILOR
When a young playwright returns to Brazil to care for her dying father — a stubborn sea-wolf who refuses treatment — she must choose between fighting for the man she loves and learning to let him go.
A Brazilian-British co-production.
Written and directed by Emilie Biasson. Produced by Leila Lak / Anahita Studios. Completed script available in English and Portuguese. Seeking co-producers.
How I Met Your Father , by Aminah Hart
Developing this best selling memoir with Jack Tarling and Shudder Films. We are speaking to writers, directors and Australian partners, and recently took meetings about the project at the inaugural Partner With Australia (UK) event in London.
